Manchester United need to reinforce their midfield department this summer and they have already secured an agreement to sign Fred from Shakhtar Donetsk.

If reports in the media are anything to go by then the Red Devils are linked with a world class midfielder in the form of PSG’s Marco Verratti.

According to Calcio Mercato, the Azzurri star met with new PSG boss Tuchel, who has told him to reduce weight.

The Italian source have mentioned that Verratti’s agent, Mino Raiola, is pushing to find a new club for his client and he has offered the midfielder to several top sides including Manchester United.

Calcio Mercato further state that Barcelona have rejected the proposal to sign him while the Old Trafford club are evaluating it.

Earlier this month, The Sun exclusively revealed that Mourinho wants the £75million rated (€85million) player as a marquee signing for Man Utd this summer.

The 25-year-old Italian featured in 38 games (all competitions) for the Ligue 1 giants last season, scored 2 goals and provided 7 assists.

Verratti is without doubt one of the best midfielders in the world, who has the quality to largely improve Manchester United’s squad. In your opinion, should Jose Mourinho splash the cash to secure his signature?
