Liverpool could soon advance with concrete bid to sign €25million player

Liverpool broke their transfer record to sign a world class defender in the form of Virgil van Dijk in the winter transfer window from Southampton.

The Dutch center half has proved to be brilliant for the Reds since moving to Anfield. If reports in the media are anything to go by then the Merseysiders are looking to sign a young Portuguese center half this summer.

According to Correio da Manhã, Liverpool and Arsenal have been following Porto starlet Diogo Queiros and they could advance in the next few days with a tempting bid to sign the youngster.

The Portuguese outlet have mentioned that Porto manager Sérgio Conceição wants the 19-year-old defender to be present with the club for the pre-season, however, he could be sold if a solid offer of over €15million arrives.

In the last campaign, the teenage center back featured in 21 league games for Porto’s B side. Moreover, he made 9 appearances in the UEFA Youth League and scored 2 goals.

Queiros was part of the Portugal’s national team that won the U-17 European Championships back in 2016 and so far, he has made 2 appearances for Portugal’s U-20 team.

His current deal with the Primeira Liga club will expire in 2021 and as per Correio da Manhã, the contract has got a release clause of €25million.
