Yoga is a great way to look and feel healthy.  It is good for the mind, body, and soul. Yoga can relieve stress, improve your sleep, and tone your body while making it more flexible and put you in a meditative state.  Yoga can also be extremely challenging if you want it to be.  We all love a challenge, right?

Here are some of the benefits you can expect when you practice Yoga.

Mindfulness

Yoga gives you a sense of mindfulness.  It puts you in a place of peace and relaxation.  The breathing alone is a stress reliever and energizes you.  When you are doing Yoga you forget about the outside world and relax your mind.  

Body

Yoga can help tone your body while also making it stronger.  There are different types and levels of Yoga. There is Power Yoga which really focusses on muscle building and definition.  There are certain muscle building poses you can do such as the Tree Pose, Warrior Pose, or The Plank.  You can also try the Shoulder Stand, the Triangle Pose or the Cobra Pose. Hot Yoga is a great way to get extra toxins out of your body and burn fat.

Soul

Yoga can help you truly find your inner self.  When practicing Yoga you can make discoveries about yourself that you never knew were there.  You can expand your horizons and see things in a different light.  Some people find themselves in a dark place in their lives and then turn to Yoga for a new focus.  This tends to bring light back into their lives and help them overcome mental obstacles they’ve been struggling with.
