Liverpool broke their transfer record in the winter transfer window to sign a world class center half in the form of Dutch international Virgil van Dijk from Southampton.

Now, the Reds are linked with another top quality center back in the form of Colombian international and Barcelona defender Yerry Mina.

According to Fotomac, due to Mina’s top performances in the World Cup, big European teams are interested in signing him and Liverpool are at the top of the list. The Turkish source have further mentioned that Jurgen Klopp wants the South American player at Anfield in his team.

The 23-year-old defender was not only solid at the back but also proved to be Colombia’s most productive player in the attack. He featured in 3 games in Russia and scored 3 goals.

Mina made his senior international debut back in 2016 and so far, he has scored 6 times in 15 appearances for Colombia.

The former Independiente player moved to the Catalan giants in the January transfer window for a fee of 11.8 million euros and his current contract with the club (until 2023) has a huge release clause (FCB) of 100 million euros (£88million).

At the Nou Camp, Umtiti and Pique are the first choice central defenders and in their presence, Mina could only start 4 games in the La Liga last season (second half of the campaign). In your opinion, should he move away from Barca in order to get regular game time?
