With the transfer window having reopened, Bundesliga clubs will be eager to strengthen their respective clubs while keeping hold of their players on hand. Calcio Insider looks into three German-based players who could be plying their trade in a fresh league ahead of the 2017/18 campaign.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang:  The Gabon international looked destined to join Paris Saint-Germain earlier last month but the change of their sporting director pulled the plug of the deal. This has, however, not ended his interest with a host of top Premier League clubs including Manchester City and Liverpool vying for his signature. The striker bagged 40 goals in just 46 outings last term including the winner in the DfB-Pokal final against Eintracht Frankfurt – the first silverware for BvB in five years.

Emil Forsberg: The Sweden international was pivotal towards RB Leipzig’s tremendous season in the Bundesliga. Forsberg managed eight goals and 19 assists for the newcomers, who surprised one and all by finishing second in the league standings. He is currently contracted to the Red-Bull based club until 2022, but this is unlikely to diminish the transfer interest, given the massive sums spent on players nowadays. The 25-year-old is said to be a huge fan of the designer Gucci, and who knows, he may end up in Italy this summer.

Renato Sanches: The 19-year-old has looked a forlorn figure since his exploits for Portugal at the 2016 European Championships, which they won. He was largely overlooked by Bayern Munich boss Carlo Ancelotti during the course of the 2016/17 season, and a move elsewhere could be vital to reestablishing himself as a regular with Portugal. Sanches was notably left out of the Confederations Cup squad last month and this represents a major setback for a player, who was tipped to become the next big thing from Portugal. Sanches may well earn a move to former suitors Manchester United, though an offer is yet to be made.
