AS Monaco striker Kylian Mbappe has reportedly placed some conditions in order to realise a move to Real Madrid this summer. The 18-year-old striker has captured the attention of Europe’s elite this summer following his title-winning season with Monaco.
Mbappe managed 26 goals across all competitions for the Principality club as they secured the Ligue 1 crown – ending Paris Saint-Germain’s four-year dominance in the competition. He has since attracted plenty of interest from the likes of Arsenal and Manchester City, but Real Madrid appear the most likely destination due to his desire to work under idol Zinedine Zidane.
According to Diario Gol, the teenager has couple of conditions which need to be fulfilled for him to pursue a move to the European champions. Mbappe is said to want one of the highest earners at the Bernabeu despite his tender age, while he also requires assurances over regular first-team football next term.
With the likes of Gareth Bale and Isco in the ranks, Mbappe could find himself restricted to the bench next season, and this is something he would not favour as it would directly affect his World Cup hopes with France.
Mbappe made his debut for France earlier in the year, and he will be hoping to improve his chances of making the starting lineup ahead of the showpiece tournament in Russia next year. The teenager has already earned comparisons to former Gunners great Thierry Henry but he himself believes that he has a long way to progress before being placed in the same category as the former France international.
Despite the ongoing speculation, Monaco are eager to keep hold of Mbappe and the final decision could be dependent on the youngster, who could potentially become the world’s most-expensive player this summer. Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal were earlier tipped to pursue a world-record deal for Mbappe, but their signing of Lyon’s Alexandre Lacazette has cooled down the imminent interest.
