Arsenal boss Unai Emery strengthened his midfield in the summer transfer window by capturing Lucas Torreira and Mateo Guendouzi.
As far as the midfield departures are concerned, Cazorla and Wilshere have already left the Gunners and now, Egyptian international Mohamed Elneny is linked with a move away from the club.
As per a report covered by Mirror Sport, French club Marseille are looking to sign the former Basel midfielder, who rarely started for the north Londoners in the last campaign.
The 26-year-old African only started 11 times in the league under Arsene Wenger last season and in the opening PL game of this season, he was an unused substitute against Manchester City.
Emery opted to start Ramsey, Guendouzi and Xhaka in his midfield and later on brought Torreira in the contest.
According to Mirror Sport, Marseille hope that Elneny might be available for sale after seeing Arsenal improve their midfield department this summer. Therefore, the Ligue 1 club are weighing up a move for him.
Arsenal lost their opening PL versus the Sky Blues at the Emirates and I believe that Emery needs depth and he must not offload anyone now that he cannot sign anyone this summer.
On the other hand, Elneny did sign a new deal back in March which will expire in 2022 but he perhaps needs to leave the Gunners to start week in week out.
