Manchester United are linked with Croatian international and Real Madrid midfielder Mateo Kovacic and as per reports, the Red Devils have already submitted a big offer for him.

According to Marca, the PL giants have made a bid worth 60 million euros for the former Inter Milan star, who wants to leave the Bernabeu this summer for regular first team football.

However, the Spanish source have claimed that the 24-year-old is not interested in moving to the Old Trafford club due to Mourinho’s bad style of football.

Kovacic is a versatile talent, who can play as a deep lying playmaker, a creative central midfielder and also as an attacking midfielder if needed.

Under the management of former boss Zinedine Zidane, the Croatian was mainly a bench warmer. The French boss preferred the likes of Casemiro, Kroos and Modric in his midfield and the scenario might remain the same under new boss Lopetegui.

Last season, Kovacic only started 10 league games for the Los Blancos and therefore, a move away from the club could help him progress in his career. At the 2018 World Cup, he made 5 appearances for Croatia but started only once.

Kovacic’s current deal with the reigning European Champions will expire in 2021 and as per Marca, the release clause in his contract is worth 300 million euros.

As far as Manchester United’s midfield is concerned, Mourinho has already lured Fred to strengthen the department and he has managed to extend Fellaini’s stay at the club.

Matic and record signing Pogba are there as well and in my opinion, the former Chelsea boss does not need to further strengthen his midfield. Instead, he must splash the cash to amplify the qualify of his offense.
