Liverpool agree €100m+ worth fee & terms to sign Alisson

Liverpool seem to be very close to sealing the signing of Alisson from Serie A side Roma. He is going to become the most expensive goalie in the history of the game.

If reports in the media are anything to go by then the Merseysiders have agreed over €100m worth deals to secure the signing.

According to multiple outlets (The Mail, Liverpool Echo, La Gazzetta Dello Sport), the fee that has been agreed is worth €75m. As far as the terms are concerned, Liverpool Echo claim a five year deal has been agreed. As per La Gazzetta Dello Sport, the five year deal will be worth over €25m.

On the other hand, The Telegraph claim that a six year contract has been agreed with the player, who will have have his medical today.

Allison’s last season:

Alisson was brilliant for the Giallorossi in the last campaign and helped them earn a place in the next season’s Champions League.

As far as the 2018 World Cup is concerned, Brazil were knocked out by Belgium in the quarter finals but the South American goalie had a great tournament as he kept three clean sheets and conceded three goals in five appearances.

It will be fair to say that he was somewhat at fault for the goal conceded against Switzerland (opening group game) because he stayed on his line when the header was scored by Zuber from inside the six yard box. However, he could have done nothing to save the own goal scored by Fernandinho and De Bruyne’s wonder strike in the last eight.

Situation at Liverpool:

The former Internacional player should replace Karius to become the main goalie at Anfield. We can expect him to take the German international’s shirt number (No. 1) as well and it will not come as any surprise if the former Mainz goalie leaves this summer.

Alisson will unite with his compatriots Firmino and Fabinho at Liverpool and he will also re-unite with former Roma team-mate Mohamed Salah, who was sensational for the Reds in the last campaign and won many individual accolades.
