Liverpool have been interested in Croatian international Domagoj Vida, who will play in the World Cup final against France later today.

If reports in the Turkish media are anything to go by then the Reds are very eager to sign the 29-year-old star, who plays for Besiktas.

Few days back, Fanatik reported that the Merseysiders made an offer of €18million for Vida, yesterday, the Turkish source reported that Liverpool offered the most serious fee of €20million and as per the latest update provided by the outlet today, the Anfield club have raised the offer to €22million. It is further mentioned that Besiktas continue to demand €35million for their center half.

The former Dinamo Zargeb star has been brilliant in Russia alongside central defensive partner Dejan Lovren and if Liverpool have really made so many offers for the player then Klopp is surely keen on uniting Vida with Lovren in the PL as well.

The German manager has to permanently fix the team’s inconsistencies in the defense if they are to win the title next season.

As compared to the 2016-17 campaign, the Reds conceded fewer goals last season (38) and a lot of credit for that goes to record signing Virgil van Dijk, who largely improved the back line after joining the club in the winter transfer window.

The five time European Champions have got five central defenders in the first team at the moment. Do they need to sign another CB? They surely do need to lure a top shot stopper to solve the goal keeper conundrum.
