Arsenal have been very active in the summer transfer window under the management of new boss Unai Emery.
The north Londoners have been linked with Andre Gomes of Barcelona for quite some time. The latest reports going on in the media suggest that Emery is seriously monitoring the Portuguese international and could move to secure his signing.
According to AS, the former Sevilla boss has made several inquiries about the Seleccao midfielder, he has even asked about the player’s life habits however, he has not presented an offer as yet. The Spanish outlet have reported (via Sport) that the player is not traveling to the US with the squad as Barca are pushing for his exit.

Another Spanish source in the form of Mundo Deportivo reported yesterday that the 24-year-old star wants to leave the Catalan giants and is confident of agreeing move to Spurs or any other Premier League club.
As far as Emery’s midfield is concerned, the north Londoners have already let gifted midfielders like Cazorla and Wilshere leave the club this summer.
The Gunners have lured a defense minded player by securing the signature of Lucas Torreira from Sampdoria, however, they still need to sign a creative midfielder to improve the quality and depth of the department.
In such a scenario, signing a versatile player like Gomes – has a release clause of 100 million euros £88million (FCB) – could prove to be fruitful for Emery, who clearly rates the footballer highly.
Gomes only made 17 league starts in 2016-17 and just 6 starts last season for Barca. He could become a regular starter at the Emirates if he does end up signing for Arsenal.
