Tottenham Hotspur are once again linked with Portuguese international and Barcelona midfielder Andre Gomes.
According to Mundo Deportivo, the Seleccao star is confident of agreeing a move to Spurs, who wanted him last season, or any other Premier League club this summer.
The Spanish source have mentioned the Spurs will be the ideal destination for the former Valencia man, who believes that he could get his best form back in the system deployed by Mauricio Pochettino.
Ready: Spurs have to agree signing of £88.2million star
Spurs need to strengthen their midfield department and their rivals have already reinforced theirs. Liverpool have signed Keita and Fabinho, United have signed Fred and arch rivals Arsenal have already lured Torreira.
Gomes is one of the most complete midfielders around. He can effectively be deployed as a play breaker in front of the back four, as a creative central midfielder and also as an attacking midfielder if needed.
Things have been hard for him at Barca and even after the departures of Iniesta and Paulinho, Barca have more than few quality midfielders in the team like Busquests, Rakitic, Coutinho, Rafinha and Sergi Roberto.
Warming the bench at the Nou Camp made the 24-year-old miss the 2018 World Cup. Therefore, it is better for him to move away from the Catalan giants for regular first team football. If Gomes does end up moving to White Hart Lane, we can expect him to partner Dier or Wanyama in the center of the park.
The ex-Benfica player has got a release clause of £88million (FCB) in his current deal but after warming the bench in the past two seasons, he could be lured for cheap.
