How Argentina should line up in Russia

Argentina have selected top quality stars in their World Cup squad but are they good enough to win the ultimate prize?

The La Albiceleste clearly do not like to face Germany. In 2006 and 2010, the Germans ousted Argentina in the quarter finals and in 2014, the Kaisers won their fourth World title by beating the South Americans 1-0 in the final.

Lionel Messi is surely going to be the main man for his national side but Argentina have got many top class players, who should step up big time if the they are to win the World Cup.

As far as their best starting XI is concerned, in my opinion, Sampoli should utilize a 4-2-3-1 system to get the best out of his players. In that setup, Messi should start in a free role behind the striker.

The Barca star should be partnered by Dybala and Di Maria in the attack. Sergio Aguero should get the nod to start ahead of Higuain as the lone center forward up front.

In the midfield, AC Milan’s Lucas Biglia and Sevilla star Ever Banega should start.

Marcos Rojo and Mercardo should start in the fullback positions for the two time World Champions while Otamendi and Fazio should start in the central defense in front of Chelsea goalie Caballero.

Here is how Argentina should line up in Russia.
