Unai Emery needs to act swiftly in the summer transfer window to strengthen the Arsenal squad for next season. The Spanish manager must reinforce more than a few key departments and midfield is one of them.
According to information gathered by Calcio Insider, Arsenal boss wants to sign French midfielder Corentin Tolisso from Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich.
As per a Bayern source, the former Sevilla boss wants to splash a fee worth £60million to capture the Les Bleus midfielder, however, the German giants are not ready to let the player leave at any cost.

Last year, Bayern Munich broke their transfer record to lure Tolisso from Lyon for €41.5million, which made him the most expensive player in the Bundesliga history (The Guardian).
The 23-year-old midfielder proved to be excellent in the recently concluded campaign. In 26 league outings he directly contributed in 10 goals. Overall, he made 40 appearances, scored 10 goals and provided 7 assists.
As far as Arsenal’s midfield is concerned, Cazorla will be leaving the club this summer (Sky Sports), an injury prone Jack Wilshere will be out of contract next month, Ramsey and Xhaka have proved to be inconsistent for quite some time and Elneny has mainly warmed the bench (started 11 league games last season).
Therefore, it is not surprising to see why Emery wants to sign a top class midfielder like Tolisso, who has been named in France’s squad for the World Cup. As mentioned above, Bayern do not want to sell their prized asset, moreover, it must be remembered that Arsenal cannot offer CL football to the player next season.
