Chelsea failed to finish in the top four in the Premier League and therefore, they will not be taking part in the next season’s Champions League.
The Blues need to reinforce their squad for the next campaign but at the moment, the future of manager Antonio Conte is up in the air.
Nevertheless, if reports in the media are anything to go by then Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich wants to take the driving seat and sign a top quality player for the Blues.

According to Spanish source Don Balon, the Russian billionaire is willing to pay a fee worth €110million to sign Argentine international and Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi, who is also wanted by Spanish giants Real Madrid.
The 25-year-old center forward netted 29 goals in 34 league outings in the last campaign and helped the Nerazzurri qualify for the Champions League.
The South American star clearly deserved to go to Russia but he still failed to earn a place in the Argentine squad for the World Cup. Manager Jorge Sampoli opted to select strikers like Juventus’ Higuain and Manchester City’s Aguero, who netted 16 goals and 21 goals in their respective league campaigns.
Abramovich needs to replace Spanish striker Alvaro Morata, who could only score 11 goals in 31 league appearances last season, and Icardi will be a top quality signing for the Stamford Bridge club.
