Tottenham defender Toby Alderweireld is linked with a move away from the club and reports suggest that Manchester United want the central defender, who is valued at €84million (Yahoo Sport UK).
The 29-year-old center half was was a key member of the Belgian side that earned third place at the 2018 World Cup.
According to reports (Mirror Sport), the north Londoners are looking to replace the former Ajax defender by signing Benjamin Pavard, who won the World Cup with France yesterday.

Like Alderweireld, the Bundesliga player is also a versatile talent, who can play in multiple defensive positions.
The 22-year-old Les Bleus starlet is naturally a center half. Last season, he mainly played as a central defender for German side Stuttgart and scored 1 goal in 34 league games.
However, French boss Didier Deschamps has always used Pavard in the right back position. He made his debut for the national team last year and so far, he has played 12 times on the right hand side of the defense.
At the 2018 World Cup, Pavard was solid at the back. He also scored a wonder goal from outside the box against Argentina.
The former Lille defender’s price tag will likely rise after winning the World Cup but it must be remembered that his contract with Stuttgart has got a release clause of €35million for 2019 (Sport Bild).
Alderweirled is one of the best defenders in the Premier League. Is Pavard good enough to replace him? We shall see if he ends up moving to White Hart Lane.

I cannot see Man U paying us all that money for Toby. Why are we so possessed to sell him instead of getting a deal done. If we go up to 140 he will most probably sign a new contract. Taking into consideration that he has maybee three years left in him (winshingly more) the difference is not that much. He spent years on 50 and never complained. Come on Levy get your act together.
Agree. Retain Toby at a fair price. Why are others willing to pay more and not us ? Alderweireld is world class and the World Cup run all the way up to his goal line save against Dier proves it. Sell Aurier and get Pavard.
