Spurs closer to reaching agreement with £131m star

Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur have been looking to bring Gareth Bale back to the Premier League and the latest reports are very intriguing.

According to Spanish source Don Balon, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez wants to sell Bale to the Red Devils, who are willing to pay more to hire his services, however, it is mentioned that the 28-year-old playmaker is much closer to reaching an agreement with Spurs.

The Spanish outlet have further stated that Spurs are pushing to sign him and even Bale is willing to do whatever it takes to return to the north Londoners.

The Welsh international has been injured and missed a lot of matches in the last two campaigns. However, when fit, he has always proved to be a world class attacker.

Last season, he featured in 39 games in all competitions for the Los Blancos, scored 21 goals and also provided 7 assists. Not to forget, he was awarded the MOTM prize after scoring a brace in the Champions League final against Liverpool.

His current contract with the reigning European Champions will expire in 2022 and last month, renowned Spanish source El Confidencial reported that Real Madrid want at least 150 million euros (£131m) from the sale of their prized asset.

Tottenham have recently agreed a club record deal with Harry Kane but they might have to pay Bale even more than their star striker to bring him back from the Bernabeu. The playmaker currently earns (The Guardian) £350,000-a-week.
