Tottenham Hotspur entertain Eddie Howe’s Bournemouth at the Wembley Stadium this weekend. The north London giants have made a good start to their Premier League campaign with four wins and two draws from their first seven outings. Despite this, they are still behind the Manchester clubs – Manchester City and Manchester United who are first and second on the table respectively with 19 points. Bournemouth, on the other hand, have endured a tough beginning to their third season in the top-flight, and they are presently in the drop zone in 19th place with just four points. Eddie Howe’s side are still in the search for their first triumph on the road, much like Spurs, who are yet to end their winless streak at their temporary home.
Players to watch for:
Harry Kane – Tottenham Hotspur: The 24-year-old has made another fascinating start to his campaign, despite failing to score in the month of August. Kane bagged six goals in four Premier League matches in September, and this included braces versus West Ham United, Huddersfield Town and Everton. The Englishman has also impressed in the Champions League where he is the leading scorer with five goals in two outings. Kane is presently in the form of his life, and he does not require much room or space to threaten the opposition goal.
Jordan Ibe – Bournemouth: The former Liverpool graduate has been a regular substitute for the Cherries this term, but he produced the one standout performance against Brighton & Hove Albion. Howe’s men were trailing 1-0 in the second period when Ibe came up with two top-class assists which changed the complexion of the game. Andrew Surman and Jermain Defoe netted the goals for Bournemouth on the night, but there were glimpses of Ibe’s ability, which convinced the club to pay a £15m for his services last year.
Prediction:
Spurs will have to someday to end their Wembley hoodoo and Eddie Howe’s side could face a tough afternoon against a highly-talented squad of young players.
