Paris Saint-Germain having second thoughts over Kylian Mbappe

Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly having second thoughts over a move for AS Monaco forward Kylian Mbappe. The France international appears to have set his heart out on joining his hometown club, but his latest demand could potentially scupper the deal.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport h/t Le 10 Sport, the 18-year-old marksman is said to want the centre-forward role at Parc des Princes, and this presents a problem with Edinson Cavani having come through a storming season under Unai Emery. The Uruguay international notched 49 goals across all competitions last term whilst taking over a position previously occupied by club favourite and free-agent Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Moreover, Neymar was recruited from Barcelona in a world-record £198m deal to strengthen the wing, and a switch to the 4-4-2 formation is not an option for Les Parisiens. As a result, talks over the deal could prolong for a while with Les Parisiens also proposing a loan agreement for the teenager.

Sky in Italia claims that Les Parisiens are looking to negotiate a suitable loan for the marksman rather than a permanent deal involving £128m plus Lucas Moura. The former French champions would find it hard to meet the Financial Fair Play requirements with another £100m signing this month, and they are hoping to convince the Principality outfit into a temporary deal with the obligation to buy next summer.

Paris Saint-Germain have made a strong start to the new Ligue 1 campaign with a 100 percent win record, and Neymar has contributed significantly in two of those games with three goals and three assists.

The French Ligue 1 has recently been the strong hold for Les Parisiens barring the previous campaign, and their spending is primarily focused on the Champions League where they have bowed out in the quarter finals in the four of the last five seasons.
