Manchester United are looking to sign a strong center half and more than a few quality defenders are linked with them.
A week or so back, Manchester Evening News reported:
“A number of defenders are understood to be on United’s radar, including Raphael Varane, Jerome Boateng, Kalidou Koulibaly, Milan Skriniar, Alessio Romagnoli, Jose Gimenez and Caglar Soyuncu, but any prospective deal is expected to be the club’s most complicated transfer this summer.”

As far as German international Boateng is concerned, few days ago, Bayern CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge told Bild that he is prepared to let the 29-year-old star leave the club if the right offer arrives.
Two days back, Spanish source Don Balon reported that Mourinho wants to sign the former Man City player, who is also targeted by Real Madrid.
Now, as per the latest update provided by Sport Bild today, the World Cup winning star could be lured for a sum of €50-60million. It is mentioned that if no offer of this scale arrives then both the club and the player will have no problems in fulfilling the contract which is due to expire in 2021.
Therefore, Mourinho can get the major signing done for Man Utd if he can match the above mentioned fee.
Boateng has won every major title with Bayern Munich and he is currently in Russia with the German national side. Last season, he featured in 19 league for the Bavarians, scored 1 goal and provided 2 assists.
