Manchester United ready to part ways with Alexis Sanchez

Manchester United are prepared to part ways with Alexis Sanchez in the near future with the Chilean having failed to make the anticipated impact since his January move to Old Trafford. The Chile international joined the Mancunian giants from Arsenal in a straight-exchange deal whereby Henrikh Mkhitaryan made the move in the opposite direction.

However, the attacker has since struggled to make of an impression and after an extended run of matches, it appears that manager Jose Mourinho has eventually become frustrated with the attacker, whom he dropped from the matchday squad for the recent Premier League game against West Ham United, The Star reports.

Sanchez’s purchase from Arsenal was expected to enhance the creative force in the forward department at United and thereby offer them the chance to close the gap of Manchester City at the top of the Premier League standings.

However, much to the surprise of the supporters, he has genuinely struggled to showcase the form which made him a favourite during his time at Arsenal and this has come about from his tendency to regularly lose possession of the ball.

As such, nothing seems to be going right for Sanchez at the moment and the decision to axe him for the recent game at the London Stadium suggests that he can no longer take his position for granted under Mourinho’s guidance.

According to The Star, United’s hierarchy are said to have the decision to offload Sanchez with Mourinho said to be frustrated with the attacker’s ineffectiveness. Regardless of this, it remains to be see whether they are any admirers for the Chilean based on the current wage package he is currently on.

At the present point of time, the former Arsenal and Barcelona star is said to command a league-record high salary of £500,000-a-week and he may have to take a hefty paycut on this package, if he is to seal an escape route in the forthcoming transfer window.
