Manchester United Keen on Signing Two Arsenal Stars

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho improved the quality of the team last summer by signing top quality players like Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Eric Bailly and Paul Pogba.

After spending that heavily, United fans expected their team to fight for the Premier League title this season. Unfortunately, things have not been so good under the management of the ex Chelsea manager.

The Red Devils are currently 5th in the table, 17 points behind league leaders  Chelsea and are hoping to finish in the top four. They have been impressive in the Europa League and have arguably got the strongest squad to win the competition.

Mourinho is already targeting players to improve his squad for next season. As per Goal.com, Manchester United are keen on signing Arsenal’s record man Mesut Ozil and versatile midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

The former Real Madrid star was Arsenal’s best player last season but he has been very inconsistent in the current campaign. Ozil has scored 9 goals and set up 9 more in 31 appearances for the Gunners this season.

Mourinho managed the Kaiser when he was with the Los Blancos and knows all about his qualities. Goal state that Ozil will not be interested in reuniting with his former boss because he does not want to leave London.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain joined the North Londoners from Southampton with a lot of potential but may be, he needs to leave the Emirates to progress in his career. The 23-year-old versatile star has not been able to become a regular starter under Arsene Wenger.

In the current season, the ex Saints attacker has featured in 37 games for the Gunners but could only get into the starting lineup on 21 occasions. He has 6 goals and 7 assists to his name in the current campaign.

The competition for starting places is very high even at Old Trafford, therefore, moving to Manchester United might not solve the problem for the England international.
