Manchester United are looking to reinforce their back line by signing a new central defender this summer and Barca’s Yerry Mina is in the focus.

The Colombian international mainly warmed the bench since moving to the Nou Camp in the winter transfer window.

However, he was one of the stars at the World Cup and is now a wanted man. Mina was solid at the back and also scored 3 goals in 3 appearances in the competition but the South Americans were eventually ousted by England in the Round of 16.

If reports in the media are anything to go by then Manchester United have moved to sign him this summer.

Sport have revealed that United want to lure the 23-year-old center half. The Spanish source came up with two different headlines. The print edition translates into ‘Manchester United also moves by Yerry Mina’ and the one on the website translates into ‘Manchester United also bid for Yerry Mina’

The outlet have stated that Liverpool and Everton have been interested in signing the former Independiente defender and now Man United have made some movement to hire his services.

Mourinho signed Bailly two years back and captured Lindelof last year. In your opinion, should United sign Mina – who has a release clause of £88million (FCB) in his contract – to further strengthen the central defense?

  1. It is all well signing defenders but what about the ones still there from last years first team squad who need to be put on the transfer list. No mention of United putting Jones or Smalling on the list and no reports of anyone asking to their availability, now that is worrying.
