Manchester United suffered a massive injury blow in the second leg of the Europa League contest against Anderlecht as Zlatan Ibrahimovic limped off the field.
It was later found out that the Swedish international has damaged his knee ligaments and will be out of action for long term.
Zlatan’s contract with the Red Devils will expire at the end of the season and it could well be the end of his career at Old Trafford. Nevertheless, the former Barcelona star will turn 36 this year and Man United need someone who will serve the club in the years to come.
According to reports, Jose Mourinho wants to sign a new center forward this summer and Mirror have claimed that United are closing in on signing Torino star Andrea Belotti.
Lately, England international Marcus Rashford has stepped up big time for the Red Devils but Jose needs a proven quality center forward to improve his team in the summer transfer window and Belotti would be the perfect signing for the club.
The 23-year-old striker is one of the best goalscorers around and he has been in sensational form for the Italian side in the current campaign. The Azzurri star has scored 25 goals in 30 Serie A outings for Torino and has 6 assists to his name as well.
Andrea made his debut for the senior Italian side back in September 2016. Since then, he has played seven games for the four time World Cup winners and has scored three goals.
Mirror claim that the former Chelsea manager has been tracking the ex Palermo man all season and the British giants will have to activate Belotti’s huge release clause of £84m to bring him to Old Trafford. The report also claims that Mourinho is looking to sign two forwards and Atletico Madrid star, Antoine Griezmann remains his priority target.
