Manchester United have spent a lot of cash to strengthen the team under the management of Jose Mourinho but this season, the results have not been fruitful.

Manchester City have virtually won the PL title as after 30 games, the Sky Blues are already 16 points ahead of the Red Devils.

On the other hand, Mourinho’s men were knocked out of the UEFA Champions League by Sevilla on Tuesday night. The Portuguese manager is under immense pressure at Old Trafford because the current season has been average and he must deliver in the next campaign.

The former Chelsea boss needs to sign top quality players in the summer transfer window and a certain Brazilian midfielder is linked with a move to Manchester United.

According to A Bola, Manchester United have an agreement in place with Benfica to sign Talisca in the summer transfer window. The Portuguese source have claimed that the deal could reach an amount worth €40million.

The 24-year-old Samba star is contracted with Benfica until 2020 but at the moment, he is playing on loan for Besiktas. Talisca has been sensational for the Turkish side. In the last campaign, he netted 17 goals and provided 6 assists in 33 appearances.

This season, he has so far featured in 37 games in all competitions, scored 16 goals and provided 4 assists. He is naturally a central midfielder but Besiktas have mainly utilized in the attacking midfield.

Midfielders like Fellaini and Carrick will not be at United next season. Moreover, record signing Pogba has been far from impressive this season and therefore, Mourinho will need to strengthen the department in the summer. Someone like Talisca will sure be a quality signing.

  1. Tallish would be no good for Mourinho, he likes to attack. It’s about time he got the best out of the players he has at his disposal instead of chopping and changing a winning team and formula. In fact he should be sacked.
