Manchester United have already secured agreements for players like Fred and Dalot. Now, reports suggest that the Red Devils want to seal another deal before the World Cup.

According to an exclusive report covered by The Sun, Mourinho is hoping to seal another signing before the tournament in Russia begins and the Portuguese manager is desperate to land Tottenham star Toby Alderweireld.

The World Cup will kick off in less than 36 hours so if the report covered by The Sun is concrete then United could secure the signing of the Belgian international today or tomorrow.

The British outlet have mentioned that the former Atletico Madrid star would cost around 50 million pounds and United are willing to pay that sum to sign him.

However, few days back, ESPN sources revealed that the north Londoners value the center half at around 70 million pounds (€79.6million).

Last season, the 29-year-old star missed a lot of games due to a hamstring injury and could only start in 20 fixtures for Spurs.

Over the years, Alderweireld has proved to be one of the best defenders in the Premier League and losing him to a rival should be a big blow for Mauricio Pochettino.

  1. Mappe will definitely be a very good addition to the United squad but I strongly advise that we maintain Athoney martial as a backup just in case of any injury along the lines. I strongly advise that we don’t offer Anthony martial to our rivals because he’s very very good. If do, he will embarrass us. To make him improve either we use him or loan him across the premiere league.

  2. Toby is good. But 70 million pounds is much at 29years. 50 Mps okay. You dondt want to sink a lot of resources in such an age knowing premier league is tricky and demanding for many players in late twenties and above in relation to injuries. But he is wise and a hard worker, a trait for a true MANU player/defender.

    1. The two signing will be very good for Man U. It will strengthen both the attack and mid field. The coach knows what’s doing. I believe the next year leagues will be very competitive. So good spending on good players will be of good help and restored man united back to his winning ways. I strongly advise that we maintain Athoney martial as a backup.

  3. He ain’t worth 50m not to talk of 70….. I won’t be surprised if the high transfer fee affects his psyche at Man Utd and we end up using him as sub eventually. What are the scouts being paid such huge sums for, can’t they unearth fresh talents, rather than paying huge sums for players almost past their peaks, like Sanchez and now Toby?

  4. £79 million for Toby is a waste of money. That is overpricing a player. He is worth £30 million nor more than that. You would rather buy S defender from Crystal palace(former Liverpool defender/Frenchman)

  5. I never had intention to post here but as a Utd fan I have to do that. our coach should never play with Anthony martial because those guys out there is not better than him. he needs time and back up from manager even in bad games.

  6. Toby is good but that amount is very high why not looking for Young lad at that position and continue looking for sharp winger and goal machine striker.

  7. Toby is agood player but last season played little games due to injuries , how sure is United that he will not get more injuries next season..£70m is too much for his age..and doesn’t have re-sale value, let United look for a much young defender.

  8. Toby is good defender. but £70m is a joke. Levy is a stubborn seller. His players don’t go on a cheap. If this gonna be the case,, then I’ll advice Jose to go somewhere, we’ve got better and younger center backs out there who’ll cost cheaper. Maguire or that man from Seville. unless levy accepts less than £40m, more than that call it a quit.
