Liverpool moving strategically to sign €65million Italian

Liverpool are linked with more than a few quality attackers and the latest name in the focus is Italian international and Fiorentina winger Federico Chiesa.

According to multiple reports in the Italian media, the Reds are interested in hiring the services of the 20-year-old starlet.

As per La Gazzetta Dello Sport, big Italian clubs like Juve and Inter and foreign clubs like Liverpool, Man Utd and Man City are moving strategically to get into pole position to sign Chiesa.

The Italian source have mentioned that the Viola have already rejected a bid of €40million plus Stephan El Shaarawy from the Giallorossi and an offer of €50million plus a player from Napoli. It is further stated that in terms of real value, the Azzurri attacker is rated at €65million.

Another Italian source in the form of Corriere Fiorentino also covered a story on Chiesa yesterday. In their report, Liverpool are the only English club mentioned, who want to sign the youngster this summer. As per Corriere Fiorentino, he is rated at around €60million/€70million.

Chiesa made his senior international debut earlier this year in March and so far, he has played 4 games for Italy.

The young starlet is naturally a right winger but he can effectively play anywhere in the attack, even as a center forward. In the last league campaign for Fiorentina, he made 36 appearances, scored 6 goals and provided 9 assists.

  1. What do we need him for. If Harry Wilson does not play this year at 21 years old, and one of the best prospects that Liverpool have had in a long time, they might as well shut up the academy.
