Arsenal need to sign a new goal keeper for next season. Czech international Petr Cech used to be one of the best shot stoppers in the world but now the 36-year-old star is surely past his best and Emery needs to replace him.

In such a scenario, reports suggest that the north Londoners are seriously interested in signing Dutch international Jasper Cillessen from La Liga champions Barcelona.

According to Sport, Arsenal and Chelsea have made a direct movement for the 29-year-old star, who has got a release clause of €60million in his contract.

The Spanish source have mentioned that everything depends on the intentions of the former Ajax star and as far Barca are concerned, they do not want to sell him but could be helpless if the above mentioned release clause is activated.

Cillessen is an experienced goalie, who has played 39 times for the senior Netherlands team and needs to start week in week out.

Last season, he only started once in the Champions League in the last group game against Portuguese side Sporting CP. Moreover, he only started once in the league against Villareal last month.

Cillessen was ever present for Barca in the Copa Del Rey and he only conceded 2 goals in 9 appearances in the competition under the management of Valverde.
