Liverpool must sign a top quality goal keeper for next season if they are to seriously challenge for the Premier League title.

The Reds have been constantly linked with Real Madrid and Chelsea target Alisson, who wants his future at Roma resolved before the World Cup (Il Tempo).

According to multiple sources, it has been reported that the Merseysiders have moved in with an offer to sign the Samba star from the Serie A side.

If report covered by Mundo Deportivo is anything to go by then Liverpool have outbid rivals Real Madrid for Alisson. The Spanish source have stated that the Los Blancos made an offer worth €50million (plus bonuses), however, Liverpool have offered a fee worth €65million in an attempt to get their hands on the goalie.

Brazilian source Terra have also reported about Liverpool’s offer of €65million to sign the 25-year-old shot stopper. They have further mentioned that Klopp has ensured the player that he will be a regular starter in the team.

Liverpool are closer to Roma’s valuation of the player. As per Brazilian outlet UOL Esporte, the Italian club want €70million for their South American star.

Alisson featured in 37 league games for the Giallorossi last season, conceded 28 goals and kept 17 clean sheets. We shall see how the transfer saga unfolds in the coming days.

  1. Thanks for this publication, my contribution is that liverpool need a strong squad next season and this cannot be achieved without a good shot-keeper. It is disgraceful to watch what happened at the final of CL in fact my belief is that Karius compromised the game and should not even near third goal keeper in our noble team. I am in support that liverpool sign Allison Becker and any other back up aside Karius please.

  2. About £57m for one of the top keepers in the world would get my vote every day of the week as long as it leaves enough in the piggy bank for an out-and-out world class left wing attacker to replace Coutinho whilst also giving us the fourth top class attacker we need to give strength in depth up front. Still need that keeper – with Butland being another option I’d like – we need a new CB and we need the left-sided attacker. No change out of £170m for that lot!
