Liverpool leading to secure signing of €74,000-a-week star

Liverpool and Manchester United are interested in signing Swiss international and Stoke City playmaker Xherdan Shaqiri in the summer transfer window.

Few days back, The Sun exclusively reported that Jose Mourinho wants to sign the former Bayern Munich player for the Old Trafford club.

However, more recently, it has been reported that Liverpool are leading the race to secure the signature of the 26-year-old attacker.

According to Mirror Sport, The Merseysiders are favorites to agree the signing of Shaqiri, who could be lured for a fee of 13 million pounds (clause) after the Potters got relegated from the top flight last season.

The British outlet have mentioned that the Red Devils want the playmaker as well but Liverpool have mainly done all the running. It is further mentioned that the Championship club are looking to get a player on loan in order to offload their prized asset.

In the last campaign, the ex Basel attacker was Stoke City’s best player, he featured in 36 Premier League games and directly contributed in 15 goals.
