The 24-year-old South American player is a versatile talent. Normally, he plays in the defensive midfield role but he has also proved to be productive in the right back position. Praising his quality and versatility, Klopp stated (LFC):

“We have signed a fantastic player, but someone who is an equally fantastic person I think,”

“He has ability and mentality to play at the highest level in a number of positions. He can play ‘6’, ‘8’ and ‘2’. This is cool.”

The former Real Madrid player was solid in the holding midfield role for Monaco last season and also scored some crucial goals. In 33 league appearances, Fabinho directly contributed in 11 goals (7 goals and 4 assists).

We can expect him to replace Emre Can at Anfield. The German midfielder’s contract with Liverpool will expire next month.
