Liverpool have been linked with a move to sign French international and Barcelona attacker Ousmane Dembele for quite some time and the latest reports going on in the media are intriguing.

Last week, Don Balon reported that the Reds are willing to pay an amount worth 80 million euros to hire the services of the former Bundesliga attacker.

Now, the Spanish source have reported that Jurgen Klopp loves Dembele and the German boss would be ready to negotiate for Mohamed Salah if the Les Bleus star is offered by the Catalan giants. Don Balon have further mentioned that Leo Messi would be happy to see the Egyptian international at the Nou Camp.

Last year, Barcelona splashed a mammoth sum of 105 million euros to hire the services of Dembele from Borussia Dortmund. The 21-year-old star’s current contract with the Spanish champions will expire in 2022 and he earns at least 12 million euros a year (€230,000-a-week) (Spiegel.de).

Last season, the speedy winger was mostly sidelined with a muscle injury and could only start 12 times in the league for Barca.

Overall, he made 24 appearances in all competitions, scored 4 goals and also provided 9 assists.

Dembele is without doubt a talented attacker but he is not good enough to replace Salah, who has been on another level this season. Therefore, Klopp must hold on to the African star no matter what happens.

  1. If I was Klopp I wouldn’t pay £80m for Dembele. Maybe Mbappe. I think these youngsters are overpriced and if they move to another club and fail to perform it becomes a headache what to do with them later. For instance how much should PSG sell Neymar for? Will that price tag be fair?

  2. we should keep our man Salah and bring in Dembele as a back up to our MSF
