Serie A holders Juventus are reportedly working on a deal to sign midfielder Aaron Ramsey from Arsenal when the season comes to a close. The Welshman has just seven months remaining on his existing deal with the Gunners and he would be free to discuss a pre-contract with an overseas club at the turn of the year.
According to Sky Sports News, the Bianconeri are prepared to offer competition to Inter Milan for the experienced Welshman, who appears very much certain to leave the Gunners when his contract expires at the end of the campaign.
The Turin giant have made a trend of luring top players including Sami Khedira, Emre Can among others on Bosman moves of late and they seem to have the same thought in mind with Ramsey, who is capable of featuring across the midfield and attack.
Ramsey is currently the longest-serving member of the Gunners first-team squad after spending more than a decade with them but that has however played no role in convincing the hierarchy to offer him a contract extension.
In fact, the midfielder has personally admitted that he does not know the reason behind the club’s decision to snub contract talks with him, although they are suggestions that the north London side are reluctant to match his wage demands.
Ramsey has not featured in the Premier League since twisting his leg during the clash against Manchester United on the road but he has participated in a League Cup quarter-final against Tottenham Hotspur, where the latter secured a comfortable 2-0 triumph in the end.
With the hectic schedule ahead, manager Unai Emery is likely to rotate his options in the midfield and attack after already witnessing an injury crisis affect the backline and this may witness Ramsey feature from off in the top-flight games to follow.
