Juventus are set to end speculation over the future of Alex Sandro by offering him a new long-term deal. The Brazil international has been strongly linked with Chelsea this summer but the Old Lady have remained firm in their decision to not sell.

Antonio Conte’s side have tabled multiple bids for the highly-rated defender, and their latest offer worth €60m has been knocked back by the Serie A holders. Manager Max Allegri has repeatedly stressed that Sandro has a future in Turin, and according to IIBianconero, the Old Lady are reluctant to sell following the departure of Leonardo Bonucci to AC Milan.

Bonucci was a surprise exit from the Bianconeri earlier last month, and this has seen them lose two key players including Dani Alves, who left on a free transfer to Paris Saint-Germain. Allegri has already informed the Chelsea that Sandro will not be sold any price, and they have turned their attention to Danny Rose instead.

The Brazil international currently has three years left on his existing deal, and the new contract will offer him a year’s extension with the promise of doubling his current wages of €2.8m a year. Sandro, who is dubbed as the new Roberto Carlos, had settled on a verbal agreement with Chelsea earlier in the transfer window, but he is no rush to move from the Italian champions where he is undisputed first-choice for the left wing-back position.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are in a difficult position following their poor transfer business which has seen the likes of Nathaniel Chalobah, Nathan Ake and Nemanja leave Stamford Bridge. While a new left wing-back is a necessity, the club also find themselves desperate for a new signing in midfield with Tiemoue Bakayoko still to recover from his knee problem.

Cesc Fabregas is not always the best in performing the tough tackling duties, but Conte has no choice but to use him alongside N’Golo Kante until a suitable competitor is found.
