Liverpool need to sign a new goal keeper in the summer transfer window because the likes of Loris Karius and Simon Mignolet are just not good enough.

The Reds are linked with numerous top quality shot stoppers and the latest name in the lime light is Swiss international and Borussia Monchengladbach star Yann Sommer.

Renowned German source Bild are basically pushing Sommer towards a move to Liverpool. Yesterday, Bild came up with a headline “Sommer is playing for Liverpool”. In the middle of the article, they have written “Makes Klopp serious this time? Sommer plays in the World Cup for Liverpool!

It is mentioned that PL clubs would have taken notice of Sommer’s world class display for Switzerland against Brazil in the World Cup and that Jurgen Klopp knows the goal keeper from the Bundesliga (when he used to manage Borussia Dortmund).

Bild also claimed that Karius might not feature for Liverpool again after his horrendous display in the Champions League final and Klopp does not trust Mignolet.

In the end, it is stated that Sommer’s current contract with the German club will expire in 2021 and an offer of over €30million could be enough to lure him.

The former Basel goalie featured in 30 league games in the last campaign, conceded 42 goals and kept only 7 clean sheets. So far, he has made 36 appearances for the senior national side.
