Manchester United have been trying to sign a new left back for quite some time and the recent reports are heavily linking them with Brazilian international and Juventus star Alex Sandro.
This season, Ashley Young mainly played regularly in the left back position but naturally, the Englishman is a winger. Sando is a specialist left back, who is solid in defense and also productive in the attacking third.
According to The Sunday Times, the Red Devils have advanced their chase to sign the 27-year-old defender from the Old Lady. The British source have mentioned that Sandro, who would cost over €56.6m, is pushing to secure the move to Old Trafford.

As per the report from The Sunday Times, senior figures at Juventus “expect the deal to be finalized once the two clubs’ seasons are complete”. This means that the deal is close because both clubs will complete their current campaigns after playing their final fixtures next weekend.
Sandro is arguably one of the best fullbacks in the world and he will be a quality signing if Mourinho can lure him.
This season, the South American defender has so far featured in 38 games for the Italian champions, scored 4 goals and also provided 6 assists.
At the moment, United do have players like Shaw, Blind, Darmian and Rojo, who can play in the left back positions. We can expect few of the mentioned stars to depart Old Trafford this summer.
