Liverpool manager has mainly utilized Roberto Firmino in the center forward position and the Brazilian international has excelled big time for the Reds.

In the current campaign, the former Hoffenheim star has so far featured in 53 games in all competitions and directly contributed in 44 goals (27 goals and 17 assists).

As far as Liverpool’s strike-force is concerned, Klopp let go strikers like Sturridge, Origi and Benteke in recent times and he does lack quality depth in the department. Ings and Solanke are just not good enough to cover in the absence of Firmino.

In such a situation, reports suggest that Real Madrid have offered Liverpool the chance to sign their star striker Karim Benzema.

According to Don Balon, the reigning European champions want to sign Mohamed Salah and now Perez is prepared to include Benzema in the operation. The Spanish source have mentioned that the Real Madrid president has offered Klopp an incentive to facilitate the exit of Salah. He is now ready to lower the asking price of Benzema to 50 million euros (£43million).

The 30-year-old striker has been brilliant for the Los Blancos over the years but this season, he has not been at his best. In 31 league games, the former Lyon center forward has only netted 5 goals (12 assists).

Benzema is clearly past his best and Liverpool should not sign him. Instead, Klopp must lure a young and quality striker to cover for Firmino. More importantly, the German boss must hold on to Salah no matter what happens.

  1. The Spanish Sun up to their tricks again. Salah is going nowhere and we don’t sign 30 year old players unless they are free.

  2. Why the he’ll would we want some one like Benzema who cant even score a goal to save his life

  3. I am starting my own newspaper and am just going to make up whatever I like because that’s all the Spanish papers do. Ronaldo is coming to Liverpool on a free and has said he doesn’t want to play champions league final haha

  4. We still have too many mediocre players on the books which Jurgen has not moved on: Mignolet, lovren, klaven, Moreno, flannaghan, Clyne, markovic, origi, plus players who are now past it or a liability : lallana , sturridge. There us too much hype surrounding trent. When will he learn to read football? Has no tactical awareness. Adds pressure defensively.

Can’t afford to just do the usual and sign 2-3 players max per window. We need quality additions like Alderwerald, max Meyer, Busquets and Suarez back

  5. I agree. When are we going to strengthen the back line? To win the league and compete in the CL each year, the defence needs to improve. Can’t put VVD under pressure each game. Make a statement and go out for Diego Godin, Toby Alderweireld
