Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey has reportedly agreed on a pre-contract to join Juventus at the end of the ongoing campaign. The Welshman has just six months remaining on his existing deal with the Gunners and it appears that he has eventually committed his future elsewhere with the north London side showing no ambition of rewarding him with an extension.
According to The Guardian, the Wales international has finalised a five-year deal with the Bianconeri where he would garner wages of around £140,000-a-week. It is added that the salary package would put him only behind Cristiano Ronaldo in the club’s earners list and ahead of the likes of Paulo Dybala and Douglas Costa, who have been linked with potential moves away from the Turin giants.
Ramsey was initially fancied to pen a new contract with the Gunners after holding fruitful talks with manager Unai Emery during the summer. However, in a strange change of events, the club decided to rescind the contract offer on the table in September and ESPN has since suggested that the manager has no concerns, given the player offers more endurance than intensity on the playing field.
Meanwhile, the probable departure of Ramsey should enhance the Gunners’ pursuit for a versatile midfielder and of late, they have been linked with the services of Denis Suarez from Barcelona. The Spanish ace has a good association with Emery after having previously worked under him at Sevilla and it is suggested that he would not leave Barcelona for any other team than Arsenal this month.
Despite this, Arsenal remain reluctant to discuss a straight-cash move this month and that could prove a potential stumbling block towards the deal. The Capital outfit are said to want a short-term loan for the season with the obligation to buy for £20m during the summer.
