Whether or not Arsene Wenger is sacked, Arsenal need a massive summer overhaul in the transfer window to improve next season. The Gunners have failed to progress under the guidance of the French boss over the past decade and it is time for a change.

However, according to Mirror, Arsene Wenger is going nowhere and he will be handed a huge transfer kitty of 200 million pounds to reinforce his team in the summer.

It looks highly likely that Arsenal will not be playing in the next season’s Champions League and without CL football, signing top quality players is going to be very hard for them.

Nevertheless, Mirror claim that the North Londoners are targeting top stars and as far as the strike-force is concerned, Olympique Lyon forward Alexandre Lacazette top’s the hit-list.

Ex captain, Robin van Persie, scored 30 league goals in his last PL campaign for the Gunners. Since his exit, no Arsenal star has been able to score even 20 league goals in a season. The French striker is currently on top of his game and he can finally sort out the strike-force conundrum for Arsenal.

This season, the 25-year-old center forward has netted 24 goals in the league and only Edinson Cavani has more league goals than him. Overall, in 38 games, Lacazette has netted 30 times and also has 4 assists to his name.

Wenger has played stars like Alexis, Giroud, Welbeck and Perez but perhaps he has failed to figure out the best No.9 for the team. The 67-year-old boss will have to spend a heavy amount to sign Alexandre, whose current deal with the Ligue 1 side will expire at the end of next season.

Arsenal also need to strengthen other key areas and Mirror’s John Cross has mentioned that they are looking to sign two new fullbacks, two wingers, a deep lying playmaker and a goalie as well.
