4-2-3-1: How Chelsea should line up vs Manchester United

Chelsea won the Premier League title last season but this time around, they have finished 5th and failed to qualify for the next season’s Champions League.

Antonio Conte’s future is up in the air and the Italian manager will surely like to end the season with a trophy. For that, the Blues will have to beat Manchester United in the final of the FA Cup.

In the most recent encounter between the Red Devils and the west London club, Mourinho’s team won the contest 2-1 at Old Trafford. Chelsea’s form have been average in the second half of the season and the former Juventus manager needs to change the formation.

The three at the back setup worked brilliantly for Conte last season but this season, teams have figured out the weaknesses in the system and exploited them.

The ex Azzurri boss needs to start four at the back and in my opinion, Chelsea should play with a 4-2-3-1 formation.

Cesc Fabregas did not even feature against Newcastle at the weekend. He should be deployed in the No.10 position behind lone center forward Olivier Giroud. The likes of Hazard and Willian should start in the attacking midfield with the Spanish star.

At the back, the likes of Azpilicueta and Alonso must start in the fullback positions while Rudiger and Cahill should start in the central defense in front of Belgian goalie Courtois.

As far as the central midfield is concerned, N’Golo Kante and Tiemoue Bakayoko should start. Here is how Chelsea should line up vs Manchester United.
