Manchester United have been linked with Portuguese youngster Diogo Dalot and if the latest reports in the media are anything to go by then the Red Devils should secure the signing soon.

Few days back, The Telegraph claimed that the 19-year-old defender has already agreed terms with the Old Trafford club, who have activated the release clause in his contract.

Today, Record have reported that United have been negotiating with the Primeira Liga club and the transfer should be sealed for a fee worth €22.5million (without add-ons).

The Portuguese source have stated that the Red Devils paying more than Dalot’s release clause of €20million is an honorable thing for the player and he would not have opted to sign without it.

The teenage fullback broke into the Porto’s first team last season and started four times in the league. Mourinho used natural wingers, Young and Valencia, in the fullback positions last season and Dalot could provide cover for both.

For Porto’s youth team, Dalot played in the right back position, however, after promoting him to the first team, manager Sergio Conceicao only utilized the youngster in the left back role, even against Liverpool in the Champions League.
