Talks Initiated – Arsenal Ready to Sign Bosnian Star

Arsenal are in turmoil at the moment and will probably fail to qualify for the Champions League for the first time under the management of Arsene Wenger.

The North Londoners were humiliated at Selhurst Park last night and are now 6th in the table, 7 points behind fourth places Manchester City, who have played a game more.

The Gunners badly need to strengthen their squad in the summer transfer window and according to latest reports going on in the media, they want a new left back.

According to Daily Mail, Arsenal have initiated talks to sign highly rated Schalke star Sead Kolasinac this summer.

The Bosnian international has been one of the best left backs in the Bundesliga this season and he will be out of contract in a few months.

Te 23-year-old star is naturally a left back but this season, the German club have mostly played him in the left side of the midfield. In addition, the former Hoffenheim player can play in the central defense and also as a defensive midfielder.

His attacking stats have been impressive so far. In 31 games, Sead has directly contributed in 10 goals in the current season. Kolasinac made his senior international debut back in 2013 and so far, he has played 23 times for Bosnia-Herzegovina.

At Arsenal, 31-year-old Monreal is the first choice left back and the veteran Spaniard has been inconsistent this season. He has not been solid at the back, moreover, in the attack, he has only provided 2 assists in 33 games.

Second choice LB, Kiren Gibbs, has only made 6 Premier League appearances this season and Arsenal need a quality defender to strengthen the position this summer. Kolasinac can solve that dilemma but the Gunners face huge competition to sign him. Daily Mail report that even clubs like Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea are looking to secure his signature.
