Tottenham Hotspur have made proposal to sign midfielder

Spurs once again booked their place in the UEFA Champions League by finishing in the top four but yet again, they failed to win any trophy.

The north Londoners need to strengthen their squad in the summer transfer window and they are linked with a top quality midfielder in the form of Luka Modric.

The Croatian international was a superstar at White Hart Lane and he has been brilliant for the Los Blancos as well. According to Spanish source Don Balon, Spurs have moved in with an offer to re-sign the 22-year-old star.

Modric has won every major trophy with the Real Madrid and is currently performing fantastically well in the World Cup with the national side. So far, he has made 108 appearances for Croatia and scored 14 goals.

Last season, he featured in 43 games in all competition for the Spanish giants and directly contributed in 10 goals (2 goals and 8 assists).

As per the provided Don Balon link, Modric is very important at the Bernabeu and it will be hard to replace him. It is further mentioned that the Real Madrid boss is looking to sign former Barcelona midfielder Thiago Alcantara, who currently plays for Bayern Munich.

Tottennham do need to improve the quality and depth of their squad and Modric will be a brilliant addition. The former Dinamo Zagreb midfielder’s current contract with the reigning European champions will expire in 2020 and he earns £245,000-a-week (The Daily Star).
