Spurs have to agree signing of £88.2million star

Tottenham Hotspur have not been active in the summer transfer window thus far and Pochettino must act swiftly to sign quality players as soon as possible

Last year, the north Londoners were close (Mirror Sport) to hiring the services of Portuguese international and Barcelona midfielder Andre Gomes but the player eventually stayed with the Catalan giants.

In my opinion, Argentine manager Pochettino has to splash the cash to agree the signing of the versatile midfielder, who has mostly warmed the bench at the Nou Camp.

During his time at Valencia, Gomes was a superstar and regularly played for Portugal as well. He was part of the Seleccao team that lifted the European Championships trophy in 2016.

However, things drastically changed for him after moving to Barca. Last season, he could only start 6 league games and he needs to move away from the club to play regular first team football.

A move to Spurs will be fruitful for all the parties. Tottenham need to improve the quality and depth of the midfield and someone like Gomes, who can play in multiple midfield positions, will be a top signing.

The 24-year-old star has got a big release clause of €100million (£88.2million) (FCB) in his contract but as per a recent report covered by Mundo Deportivo, Barca are prepared to sell him for just €35million. According to the Spanish source, Arsenal are interested in capturing him.
