Report – Man Utd ‘best placed’ to sign free agent

Manchester United have already strengthened their team by signing Fred (midfielder) from Shakhtar Donetsk, Dalot (defender) from Porto and Grant (goal keeper) from Stoke City.

The Red Devils also need to reinforce their academy and reports suggest that they are in pole position to sign Spanish defensive midfielder Nico Gonzalez, whose contract with the Catalan giants expired last month.

According to Spanish source Sport, the 16-year-old free agent has not signed a new deal with the Catalan club, he has got several offers on the table and Man Utd are the ‘best placed’ side to sign him.

The teenage midfielder is the son of Fran Gonzalez, the ex Deportivo La Coruna star, who works as a coach at Man City.

Fran knows Man United scout Harrison very well and their good relations is perhaps the main reason why the Old Trafford club are the main candidate to sign Nico Gonzalez (Sport).
