Real Madrid attacker Gareth Bale is keen on staying put with the European champions and has no plans of making a Premier League comeback in the summer, Spanish publication AS reports.
The Wales international has been with the Bernabeu giants since the summer of 2013 and during this period, he has won one La Liga title and four Champions League crowns – three of which have come on the trot.
Despite this, there has regularly been speculation regarding the forward’s future at the Spanish capital but AS suggests that the attacker is prepared to stay put for the forthcoming transfer window.
According to AS, the 29-year-old is said to have no plans of pursuing a comeback to the Premier League in the summer irrespective of the recent links with former admirers Manchester United and Chelsea.
It is added that the former Southampton graduate is determined to remain with the Spanish heavyweights for the long-term which could potentially see him honour the remainder of his contract which expires in June 2022.
Bale has had his fair share of injury concerns over the past few years and this has hampered him to the point that he has failed to make 30 or more appearances in four of the previous five seasons with Los Blancos.
Moreover, he has not quite taken over the goalscoring burden from Cristiano Ronaldo following the Portuguese’s recent departure to Juventus, though the statistics remain admirable for the current season.
Bale is presently on 12 goals and four assists for the campaign which sees him only behind Karim Benzema in the scoring charts despite playing nearly 600 minutes less than the French marksman.
The Welshman was only a substitute during Los Blancos’ shock 2-1 league defeat to Girona at home last weekend, but he could return to the starting lineup for Sunday’s late kickoff at Levante.
