Premier League [Preview]: Manchester United vs Crystal Palace

Manchester United will look to continue their excellent start to the season when they tackle bottom club Crystal Palace at Old Trafford on Saturday. The Red Devils have remained unbeaten in the first six games of the campaign, and they are only behind Manchester City in the standings (16 points) – on goal difference. On the other hand, the Eagles cannot find a way of scoring, and this sees them at the bottom of the pile with zero points. Roy Hodgson’s side fought credibly against Manchester City last time around, but it came to no avail as the Citizens outclassed them by a 5-0 scoreline.

Players to watch for:

Romelu Lukaku – Manchester United:

The former Evertonian just can’t stop scoring for Manchester United. Lukaku bagged his eighth goal of the season in the 1-0 triumph at Southampton, and he has since added a brace in the 4-1 Champions League thumping of CSKA Moscow. The 24-year-old has scored all of his goals from the penalty box, and it displays his poacher’s instinct which has made him hugely successful in the Premier League. With six goals in as many league games, Lukaku would surely want to enter the international break with another strike to his kitty.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek – Chelsea:

The Chelsea loanee has already put in a string of notable performances. Loftus-Cheek has the ability to push forward from the centre of the park, and he provided the main threat to the Manchester City backline last weekend. The England youth international was also impressive in the 1-0 defeat to Southampton earlier this month, and United will have to keep a close watch on his movement to avoid a potential upset.

Prediction:

Crystal Palace have largely remain unlucky in the frontline with the woodwork and poor finishing costing them points. This is unlikely to change at Old Trafford where the Red Devils are yet to concede this term.
