Predicted Chelsea Lineup vs Sunderland, Diego Costa & Eden Hazard to start

Chelsea take on relegated Sunderland in the final game of the campaign after which they will be rewarded with the Premier League trophy. The Blues have cruised to the English crown this term, and they will now seek to achieve their 30th of the season – which would break the league record.

With the FA Cup final against Arsenal next weekend, Antonio Conte will probably play more of a full string squad as match fitness would be key in their bid to achieve a domestic double this season.

Formation: 3-4-3

Lineup:

Thibaut Courtois has been the regular between the sticks for Chelsea this term, and he could be backed to retain his place as the club’s number one.

Conte played an entire backline in the 4-3 victory over Watford, but this may not be the case against Sunderland with David Luiz, Cesar Azpilicueta and Gary Cahill likely to form the back three.

Both Victor Moses and Marcos Alonso were rested in midweek, and they could return to the starting lineup in order to earn valuable playing time ahead of next week’s Cup outing.

Nemanja Matic and N’Golo Kante have been the regulars at the heart of the midfield, and the latter could make his return to the starting lineup after having missed the Watford game with a thigh strain.

Willian has got far less playing time than he has deserved this term, and he could keep his place in the starting lineup with a view to starting the FA Cup final.

Eden Hazard will take up his regular spot on the left side of the attack with Diego Costa likely to lead the line ahead of Belgian international Michy Batshuayi.

Prediction:

Antonio Conte’s are unlikely to show any mercy at Stamford Bridge this weekend, and the Black Cats could be heading for a mauling, should Jordan Pickford fail to show up on the day.

The English shot-stopper was simply sublime in the 2-0 loss to Arsenal, and he will need to produce a similar performance in order to end his club’s season on a high – before relegation.
