Liverpool are seriously interested in signing Brazilian international and Roma star Alisson Becker if reports in the media are anything to go by.

The Samba star had a fantastic season with the Serie A side and because of that, more than a few top clubs are interested in hiring his services.

As far as Liverpool are concerned, UOL Esporte reported that under the consent of the 25-year-old goalie, the Reds held talks with his representatives before Brazil took on Croatia in a friendly contest at Anfield.

Anfield AlissonThe Brazilian source have mentioned that Alisson is interested in leaving the Italian football and acquiring him is the priority of Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp.

According to Spanish source Don Balon, Liverpool have already made an offer worth 50 million euros (£44million) for the Samba star, however as per UOL Esporte, the Giallorossi want 70 million euros (£61million) from the sale of their prized asset.

The former Internacional goal keeper featured in 37 league games for Roma in the last campaign, conceded 28 goals and kept 17 clean sheets (one less than former Liverpool star Pepe Reina).

The Reds cannot continue with inconsistent goal keepers like Karius and Mignolet if they want to win the Premier League next season. They must splash the cash to sign a top player to guard the goal and Alission perfectly fits the bill.

  1. If Alisson is a cheaper version of Oblak by €10mil to €15 mil , then Alisson is a viable option, but if as costly as Oblak, then I prefer Oblak as he is a no nonsense stopper.
