Paris Saint-Germain midfielder offered to Juventus

Serie A holders Juventus have been offered the opportunity to sign Gregorz Krychowiak, who had a frustration debut season with Paris Saint-Germain. The Poland international managed just seven starts in the French Ligue 1 last term, and manager Unai Emery has put him on the transfer market for the summer.

According to Calciomercato, the Old Lady have been alerted to Krychowiak’s availability this summer with manager Max Allegri on the search for a new central midfielder. The Bianconeri recently permitted the sale of Mario Lemina to Southampton on an £18.1m deal, and they are now on the search for a replacement, who could potentially compete for a regular spot.

Krychowiak was one of Unai Emery’s favourite during his time at Sevilla, but the manager has not been able to get the best of the Pole at Parc des Princes with Marco Verratti, Thiago Motta, Adrien Rabiot all vying for positions in central midfield. On top of this, the club have spent a mammoth €222m to pursue the signature of Neymar from Barcelona, and they will be hoping to recoup as much as possible from their fringe players this summer.

Juventus are eager to bring a solid enforcer to their ranks, but Krychowiak is still not the first-choice on their wishlist for the transfer window. The Bianconeri have made regular contact with the representatives of Liverpool midfielder Emre Can, and they are optimistic that an agreement could be reached for the German international, who has entered the final year of his Reds contract.

Allegri’s side have won the Scudetto in each of the last six seasons, but the upcoming campaign could be the toughest yet with AC Milan trying to spend their way to success. Meanwhile, winning the Champions League would be at the top of Juventus’ priorities next season after they stumbled at the hands of Barcelona and Real Madrid in the 2015 and 2017 finals respectively.
